Cox Hallett Wilkinson Limited (“CHW”) advised GeoPark Limited (NYSE:GPRK), a leading independent Latin American oil and gas explorer, operator and consolidator, on Bermuda law matters relating to the US$315 million acquisition of Amerisur Resources Plc. (“Amerisur”) (LON:AMER).  The debt financing was secured by Citibank N.A. And Itau in the form of a bridge loan.  Cardiff-based Amerisur has agreed the buyout from GeoPark unit GeoPark Colombia SAS.

GeoPark will acquire the entire issued and to be issued share capital of Amerisur for a total cash consideration of approximately £242 million.  Closing of the transaction is expected in December 2019 or January 2020, following approval of Amerisur shareholders and subject to customary regulatory approvals.
