Dr Tariq Mahmood specialises in multi-jurisdictional commercial dispute resolution. He was called to the bar of England & Wales in 2002. He has experience in all aspects of international dispute resolution, encompassing litigation, arbitration and mediation. He has also been called as an Advocate in multiple jurisdictions.
Tariq has more than 20 years’ experience in representing clients in a wide variety of commercial disputes in London, the Middle East and South Asia.
Tariq has a particular specialisation in arbitration. As well as being a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), he is on the ‘Approved Faculty List (AFL) of (CIArb) providing training in (Domestic & International) Arbitration and Mediation.
He is on numerous institutional panels worldwide and has served as counsel, arbitrator and mediator conducting both institutional and ad-hoc arbitrations and numerous mediations.
He has lectured and publishes regularly on topics relating to international arbitration, mediation and issues of diversity in the legal profession. He has been appointed a Visiting Professor at the University of Hull and an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Keele.
