Cox Hallett Wilkinson (“CHW”) has advised Southlands Ltd. in relation to a land swap deal with the Bermuda Government.

The CHW team of Kim White and Ernest Morrison advised on all aspects of land swap agreement, which means that Southlands Ltd. will swap its freehold property at Southlands, Warwick for freehold and leasehold property at Morgan’s Point, the former US Naval Annex on the Southampton/Sandy’s border.

Kim White commented “We are very pleased to have assisted Southlands Ltd. on this momentous step.  This deal opens the way for the developers to begin work on a US$2 billion tourism resort, which will include a main resort hotel, a boutique hotel, condominiums, beach villas, a golf course, a boat club and a retail plaza.  The development will create a significant number of construction and hospitality jobs and a resort that all Bermudians can be proud of”.
